The production of the film Fiery Fox spanned three years and covered the vast territory of Kamchatka. Enveloped by untamed nature, director and cinematographer Dmitry Shpilenok alongside producer Anna Shpilenok immersed themselves in the depths of the reserve for 26 months to bring to life the tale of a timid fox that courageously confronts its fears, undergoes trials, and ultimately emerges as a true hero.
By intentionally keeping the crew to a minimum, the filmmakers sought to minimize human impact on the protected area, upholding ethical standards in the documentation of wild animals in their natural habitat.
Through Fiery Fox, the creators aspire to convey a poignant message: the crucial disconnection modern society faces from nature. At the same time, it is from this profound connection with the natural world that our creativity, life harmony, physical and mental well-being, and even material comfort stem from.
The film echoes, “You can't help but protect nature, because nature is you”.
