My name is Samuel Laprand, freelance film director, cinematographer & colourist from Sion, in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
As a young filmmaker from Switzerland, I am driven by a deep passion for storytelling and the power of cinema to provoke thought and evoke emotions. My name is Samuel Laprand, and I am thrilled to present my directorial work through this statement.
Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to honing my craft and pushing creative boundaries. My commitment to storytelling led me to embark on the production of 'Family Dystopia,' a remarkable project that showcased my ability to deliver a meaningful and visually captivating story with limited resources.
'Family Dystopia' was an exceptional endeavor that challenged me to think outside the box and make the most of every opportunity. Produced during a Kino Kabaret event organized by ARKAOS in Switzerland, this film allowed me to collaborate with a diverse and passionate team of individuals, including talented amateurs who volunteered their time and skills. Together, we overcame limitations and created a compelling audiovisual experience that left a lasting impact.
One of the driving forces behind my work is the exploration of important societal themes. I am particularly drawn to subjects that reflect the current state of our world, and the theme of 'freedom of speech' holds immense significance in today's society. Through my films, I aim to ignite conversations and inspire viewers to reflect on the importance of this fundamental right. By shedding light on the consequences of silenced voices, I hope to touch the hearts and minds of audiences, fostering meaningful dialogue and encouraging positive change.
