Bruno Straus is a filmmaker who was born in Torrance, CA and was raised in Redondo Beach, CA, Park City, UT, and St. Petersburg, FL. His directorial debut, '1 Versus 100' was accepted into the International Filmmakers Showcase Film Festival (IFS) in 2019 and screened in Los Angeles. Bruno received distribution deals from Ariztical Films and All Channel films shortly after. Bruno wrote a screenplay with comedian Brent Weinbach called 'False Awakenings' which won the Spirit of Los Angeles Award from the Los Angeles International Film Festival. Bruno directed a documentary about his aunt Jill who is intellectually disabled and endured abuse in group homes called 'The Quality of Life' that has garnered over four hundred thousand views on Youtube. In 2017, Bruno and his wife, Nicole Zwiren, were selected by the Filmmakers Alliance to create a short film in the course of 72 hours. This film was called 'The Blinking Game' and screened at the original Canon screening room on Sunset Blvd. Bruno produced, edited, and was cinematographer on the experimental feature film, 'Brother Side of the Wake' which screened in New York, Ann Arbor, and Los Angeles. In 2023, Bruno legally changed his last name from Kohfield-Galeano to Straus, which was his grandmother Eva's last name.
