Falling
The night was falling, it’s falling, it’s over.
The way you looked at me was magical, I felt it strong.
You wrapped me up inside your gentle hands and held me close.
And now I can’t describe the loss I feel.
And now my palm is cold where yours lay there.
I think back to the time when summer came and on the beach,
I watched the fireworks heat up your face and light your skin.
And in the quiet light of midnight air,
my inhibition tired and I lay bare.
The night was falling, it’s falling, it’s over.
The light was falling, it’s falling, it’s over.
And now I pass you, and you’re lost to me, the light is gone.
The dream fog of that night has cleared, and all the softness lost.
But I’ll remember how you caught my eye,
and where I saw the chance of real life.
The night was falling, it’s falling, it’s over.
Your light was falling, it’s falling, it’s over.
The night was falling, it’s falling, it’s over.
My dream is falling, it’s falling, it’s over.
