Director Biography - James Harris

Directorial debut from actor and singer-songwriter James Harris.

"Discovered my love of filmmaking and editing while putting Fallen Angel together. I've always wanted to act, but have now also found a passion for the creative art of filmmaking itself. Feel like I've just embarked on this journey and am keen to continue and see where it takes me."

Director Statement

A five minute short film about a fallen angel, lost and alone in a labyrinth, desperately seeking liberation from the dark place he has found himself in. His plight is narrated by a poem and is set to the sounds of 1980s style electropop, as we follow him on his quest for redemption through a strange and unwelcoming underworld.

The film raises the uneasy question... Are we all fallen angels?

I've also created a music video for one of my new songs, Lost Soul, as a companion piece to this film. It was made utilising some of the same material, plus additional footage not seen in Fallen Angel. It's under two minutes long and I suggest might make a nice addition to show directly after the film at screenings.

I love the way my acting, film and music work all converge in these two pieces, rather like Spaghetti Junction itself actually!
