Director Biography - Sara Massa, Martim Morais

Sara Massa(2002), natural de São Miguel, Açores, é licenciada em Arte Multimédia pela Faculdade de Belas-Artes de Lisboa. O seu trabalho artístico caracteriza-se por uma abordagem meta-reflexiva que questiona as convenções sociais. Através de uma linguagem irônica e, por vezes, humorística, explora a autoconsciência e a dinâmica do indivíduo dentro da sociedade.
Fez parte de exposições no Arquipélago - Centro de Artes Contemporâneas(2020), na GALERIA BRUI(2020), no IST Lisboa(2024) e na Zaratan-Arte Contemporânea(2024). Exibiu curtas-metragens em alguns Festivais como o Fuso Insular(2020), o Ciclope(2023), o Festival Trás-os-Filmes(2024), o Festival Curta Açores (2024), o Festival Impacto(2024) e no Azorean International Film Festival (2024). Atualmente faz parte de um coletivo performático de nome Casal a dias onde arrastam a vida real para a prática artística (literalmente).

Tem dificuldade em defender o seu trabalho, mas tenta e engasga-se todo a tentar e fica mais confuso do que já estava. No fundo tem muita informação na cabeça que não consegue expressar por palavras e por isso faz arte ou pseudo-arte.

Sara Massa (2002), born in São Miguel, Azores, has a degree in Multimedia Art from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon. Her artistic work is characterized by a meta-reflexive approach that questions social conventions. Through ironic and sometimes humorous language, she explores self-awareness and the dynamics of the individual within society.
She has been part of exhibitions at Arquipélago - Centro de Artes Contemporâneas(2020), GALERIA BRUI(2020), IST Lisboa(2024) and Zaratan-Arte Contemporânea(2024). She has screened short films at festivals such as Ciclope(2023), Festival Trás-os-Filmes(2024) and Festival Impacto(2024). She is currently part of a performance collective called Casal a dias where they drag real life into artistic practice (literally).
