Linda Collins has performed and/or recorded as an orchestral musician with such greats as Wille Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Amy Grant, Jars of Clay and Vince Gill in the contemporary genre; and with artisits YoYo Ma, Emmanuel Ax , Joshua Bell to name a few in the classical genre.
She has also performed in pit orchestras of several Broadway style productions in Toronto, CA as well as New York City.
She writes and performs songs and piano music for performance in alternative, pop and gospel genres, and is looking currently working on her album THE LIGHT THAT HEALS, an alternative piano collection with vocals.. She is also an avid improvisor and serves as Music Director and Band Leader for various productions.
Linda's passion for music has been her heartbeat since she was a small child, and there is no end in sight.
I wrote the piece FOR MY GRANDMOTHER and performed it as an homage to my Mother's Mom, my Grandmother. When I played it for Debra Markowitz, the Director and Writer of our film THE PROF, ( that I also act in) she immediately asked me if we could use it as the theme song for our film. I couldn't be happier that FOR MY GRANDMOTHER is the theme song for our film THE PROF. My grandmother was very special to me and this piece embodies my emotions and the sweetness and struggle that defines life's up and downs for those we love.
