Experiencing Interruptions?

FETCH

In the midst of the Taal Volcano eruption in the Philippines, an old woman named Josa, struggles to fetch and deliver some pail of water to respective houses in the shanty alleys of Manila just to earn some transportation money which she needs to send (money-transfer) right away for the immediate retrieval of her second husband and son who are both trapped in an island in Batangas, which is totally devastated by the eruption.

Director Statement

This film is dry and dirty. Poor and stinky. Dreadful and pitiful. A typical third world poverty-stricken story brought to life through the craftsmanship of filmmaking.

Sad to say, this story is not only happening in the Philippines, which makes it UNIVERSAL and TIMELY.

How do we fight poverty? Where do we find our waterholes in the underworld? Why do we need to suffer like this?

IGIB (FETCH) is a very intriguing family drama film which is actually stereotypical, to be honest. What makes it different from the rest is its essence. Its message. Its core. Its absurdity.

When there is drought, we look for water. When rain pours, we drink and get nourished. It is a cycle. No one can contest. It happens. It is what human drama is all about.

It is what life is all about:

Suffering and living.

We work to live.

We live to work.

To live is to suffer.

To survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.
