Director Biography - Sonia Tully

Sonia Tully is a Dublin born London/Dublin based actor, writer and director. She trained as an actor at Bow Street Academy under the guidance of Shimmy Marcus, Sarah Hone and Dale Leadon-Bolger before going on to write and direct her debut short film 'Eyes On Me'.

Director Statement

'Eyes On Me' is a short film inspired by my time spent in acting classes and rehearsal rooms. I used Angelica, our protagonist, to communicate that feeling of self doubt, how it can manifest itself, and the limitations it puts on you and your art.
Everyone experiences self doubt but I want 'Eyes On Me' to speak to the creatives. Our career paths are seldom linear which makes it very easy to lose sight of what we're striving towards and who we're doing it for.
For me, 'Eyes On Me' was about reclaiming autonomy over my performance and how I express myself artistically. I'd love for audiences to come away with a renewed sense of power over their decisions and confidence to fight for themselves.
