Director Statement

Eva Carroll Monroe and the LIncoln Colored Home was my first film. I chose to tell the story of an African American woman's life in the early 1900s. I believe it's important to capture the lives of women and minorities on film because their stories have been overlooked. The research required for historical biographies appeals to me and it's important for me to be accurate. In the future I'm open to making other genres of film and using alternate forms of technology.
