Europa 2016
In 1536, Michelangelo was over sixty years old when he started to paint the Last Judgment in Rome. It took him 6 years to complete.
The famous fresco has been recreated in a 3D environment where the camera sweeps around the numerous characters. The atmosphere is as tense as on a sinking ship following the figures who grasp and climb over each other in desperation. Struggling to reach safety at the top where there is only space for the few.
Etchings in the background by Giovanni Battista Piranesi 1720-1778

I owe my artistic freedom to the Blender Foundation and its generous community. Today I am totally independent. For chroma key filming I use my Iphone, modeling I use 3D Blender and post production Final Cut.
