EUREKA
"EUREKA" is a film project developed in March of 2020 by Coloradan Actor & Filmmaker Stewart Jackson. Filmed in the Colorado Rockies, while in complete isolation, Eureka was created with the post-meditated intention of being released exactly two years after all filming occurred to remark on the uncertainty that was March 2020. All aspects of the film were completed in their entirety by the filmmaker.

Stewart Jackson is an actor/filmmaker based in Los Angeles, born and raised in the Colorado Rockies. He is an alumnus of Loyola University Chicago, holding B.A in Theater and a B.B.A. in Marketing. Stewart has worked theatrically in both the US and internationally. He is a member, and former improviser, in the ‘Advanced Study Program’ at ‘Upright Citizens Brigade Theater’. Stewart’s short films, “Silver Service” (2020) & “Eureka” (2022), have received numerous international recognitions. He enjoys walking through the snow at night, advocating for other disabled Americans and tying multiple fireworks to the same fuse.
In March 2020, like so many of us, I fled my current home (Los Angeles) to go home to my family (Colorado). Before I could safely run into them, I quarantined for 14 days in my late grandmother's 133 year old Victorian home which is located in an extremely remote, historic, gold mining town in the Rockies. A place where I spent many childhood years, but hadn't returned since the age of 11 after a pipe broke and devastated the home one winter.
With zero phone service or wifi in a time when news was minute to minute, and 3 electrically powered devises (A front door light, VHS/TV & A Microwave), I spent many hours talking to the house's spirits and rationing the limited supply of food I had with me. Shot entirely on an Iphone 10, and fully produced alone A-Z , art truly began to imitate this very very new life I was suddenly living.
Upon completion of filming (and my quarantine) I decided to hibernate everything I had shot with the intention only to release it 2 years in the future to see if life made any more or less sense. 2 years later the world seems just as uncertain, but on an entirely different dimensional axis. This is EUREKA.
