Currently an Assistant Professor in the Filmmaking Department at Grand Valley State University. Previously I have held the position of Academic Director of Media for the Game Art & Design, Media Arts & Animation, Visual Effects & Motion Graphics, Digital Filmmaking & Audio Production programs at The Art Institute of Colorado.
I received my MFA in Filmmaking from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, specializing in experimental animation. I have produced and directed a variety of animated projects, ranging from children’s character animation to 3D visualizations for a multimedia opera. My experimental animated shorts have won awards and have screened at film festivals around the world.
My career is dedicated to education and facilitating creative communication, visualization and expression. My technical specialization has become 3D animation and stop motion animation.
I continue to experiment with a range of media attempting to capture the creative process
"Ethereal Shift" is about having a conversation with the medium. It is about the presence of human consciousness in all of its imperfections.
It is animated, improvisational, visual jazz which is very different from how most animated films are made. As a filmmaker, I feel it is important to let energy flow through the opportunity to capture motion frame by frame.
This film was a catharsis of pain associated with loss and the unknown...
