Experiencing Interruptions?

Etched — One night, a couple confronts the silent betrayals in their 30-year marriage and struggle to choose grace over regret.

Etched is a black-and-white short film about marriage, forgiveness, and the quiet fractures that form over time.
Shot entirely on an iPhone XR with no crew and no budget, the story unfolds in a single living room over one night as David and Naomi confront ambition, silence, and the possibility of reconciliation.
Its stripped-down approach—one room, just two actors—creates an intimacy that reveals both the fragility and resilience of long-term love.

Recent recognition includes five awards across multiple festivals:
• Showcase Prize — Reimagine iPhone Film Fest (2025)
• Best Mini-Film, Best Writing, and Best Actor — Christian Online Film Festival (2025)
• Best Experimental Short — Last Evangelist Film & Music Festival (2025)

And Official Selection as the following Film Festivals

Director Statement

Etched was born out of an unexpected invitation—one that pushed me beyond fear and into filmmaking. For years I felt called to tell stories, not just by embodying other people’s narratives as an actor but by creating my own. When a friend challenged me to enter an iPhone film festival, I had no crew, no budget, only an iPhone XR—and every reason to step back. But something deeper urged me forward.

This film explores marriage, forgiveness, and the fragile spaces that form inside a long-term relationship. It asks what happens when silence becomes a habit and ambition creates distance. Can grace still find its way in? I chose a stripped-down approach—one room, black-and-white cinematography, just two actors—because intimacy is the heart of the story.

As my directorial debut, Etched represents a turning point in my creative journey: a decision to embrace vulnerability, courage, and faith. The recognition it has already received—five awards across a few festivals—reminds me that small stories told with sincerity still matter.

My hope is that audiences see themselves in David and Naomi’s quiet struggle and feel invited to reflect on their own stories of fear, love, and grace.
