Esteban in his Castle of Colors

Esteban Castillo is a Plastic Artist born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, his heart yearns for Paris, France from the late 60's to the late 80's; because there he was trained and experienced a beautiful stage as an artist. It was 20 years that he lived in the city of light. He was married for 14 years to a French woman with whom he had two daughters, now he has 3 French grandchildren. He kindly opened the doors of his home and his heart to us, he received us to tell us a little about his career and anecdotes about him in art, difficult to summarize in a short documentary report.

Director Biography - Elmer Zambrano Audiovisual

Nací en Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Estudié Derecho en la Universidad de Los Andes y me gradué de Abogado en 2001. Sólo era un espectador del cine, cuando niño veía películas en Betamax que mi padre alquilaba, recuerdo que eran entre 7 a 10 películas para ver un fin de semana. También iba a los cines que había en la ciudad, antes que desaparecieran por la implementación de las multisalas de las cadenas en los centros comerciales. Luego en 2007, estaba buscando algún taller sobre fotografía, para distraerme de mi trabajo en los tribunales, me encontré con un taller de cine, y lo hice, terminé enamorándome totalmente sin saber que mi deseo sería dedicarme el resto de mi vida al audiovisual. Obtuve mi título (diplomado) como Audiovisualista en 2008 y Comunicador Social, mención Desarrollo Humano en 2015. Soy referente en Cine y Fotografía en el Sistema Nacional de las Culturas Populares en Venezuela, estoy registrado en el Centro Nacional Autónomo de Cinematografía en las áreas de CÁMARA, DIRECCIÓN DE FOTOGRAFÍA, FOTO FIJA, FOTOGRAFÍA Y GUIONES AUDIOVISUALES. También estoy registrado como Productor Nacional Independiente. En mi país existen obstáculos económicos y políticos que impiden que limitan la libertad de expresión y creativa, sin embargo, sigo intentando crear y compartir con otros el lenguaje audiovisual que tanto me apasiona…

I was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. I studied Law at the Universidad de Los Andes and graduated as a Lawyer in 2001. I was just a moviegoer, when I was a kid I watched Betamax movies that my father rented, I remember there were between 7 to 10 movies to watch on a weekend. I also went to the cinemas that were in the city, before they disappeared due to the implementation of multiplexes of the chains in the shopping centers. Then in 2007, I was looking for a workshop on photography, to distract myself from my work in the courts, I found a film workshop, and I did it, I ended up falling totally in love without knowing that my desire would be to dedicate the rest of my life to audiovisuals. I obtained my title (diploma) as Audiovisualist in 2008 and Social Communicator, Human Development mention in 2015. I am a reference in Cinema and Photography in the National System of Popular Cultures in Venezuela, I am registered in the National Autonomous Center of Cinematography in the areas of CAMERA, DIRECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHY, STILL PHOTO, PHOTOGRAPHY AND AUDIOVISUAL SCRIPT. I am also registered as an Independent National Producer. In my country there are economic and political obstacles that prevent freedom of expression and creativity, however, I continue trying to create and share with others the audiovisual language that I am so passionate about...
