"Epithelioma" is a video essay that reflects on the inevitability of death and the difficulty of communicating the unspeakable. The essay attempts to create a cohesive and meaningful narrative that strives to capture and convey the incommunicable through a combination of Oxmo Puccino's impressive performance from Éric Baudelaire’s “Une Fleur à la Bouche (“A Flower in the Mouth”) and Süheyla Feyyat’s interviews.

Director Biography - Derya Satir

23 years old theatre, film and media studies (TFM) student based in Vienna and Istanbul. Working as assistant director in a documentary film. Volunteering as content creator in an association for women living in Vienna. Creates audiovisual projects focusing on cultural discrimination and gender representation.

"After exploring various forms of expression through music and theatre, discovering filmmaking has taught me an audiovisual language, richt with endless multimedia and creative opportunities. I enjoy becoming acquainted with this medium and speaking this language with the hope that it will eventually become as natural to me as my mother tongue."
