My name is Roi F. Carvajal, I was born in Pontevedra (Galicia) and as a good Galician I set out to discover the world, which led me to study Computer Engineering in Cádiz, and then dedicate myself to the world of emergencies in Cartagena (Murcia) while I began my second degree, Degree in Cinema and Audiovisual Media at ESCAC specializing in Documentary. Upon completion, I completed a Master's degree in Film Business and Photography Direction at ESCAC, along with an international documentary filmmaking workshop at EICTV (Cuba).
I have worked as a producer, sound engineer and in the photo department on ESCAC Films documentary projects including "Thanatos" and "Entre la onda y la roca"; "Castelao de chumbo a verba" with the Abella Creativa agency; in his own projects such as "Vindur" (in distribution) and "Red Flag, Calm Sea" (in pre-production); in the documentary series "Legendary Creatures" by Miguel Sánchez for the History channel; and as director of photography in the film “Xtremo” in pre-production, in the documentary “Crossing the yellow blocks”, and the visual piece “Mortal Sushi”.
I currently work as an adjunct professor in the ESCAC Master's Degree in Photography Direction, professor in the ESCAC photography postgraduate course, professor of documentary and photography direction at FX Animation, carrying out my own and external projects. I focus above all on taking photographs and documentary pieces on social themes with a traditional style.
I have participated in a multitude of projects outside the documentary field, including Amnesty International "Vols fer callar", Sitges 2017, EDF Solar and RECAM Stunts; video clips such as "Tonight is the night" by Jump in the river, "Me gusta el BUM" by Compota y su Ricura, Hesitation" and "Molly" by H.A.N; short films such as "Silente" by Paco Ruiz, "Matria" by Alvaro Gago and "Ratones" by Arturo Valdés; and the television program "Rols de parella" by TV3; and the documentary series on blockchain "Crossing the yellow blocks".
