Director Biography - Harrison J Thomas

Harrison, now 15, is an award-winning actor, filmmaker, musician and vocalist. Harrison is currently the Woodleigh Emerging Filmmaker winner from Peninsula Film Festival (Victoria), Best Australian Filmmaker Under 18 at IFFA (Melbourne) and past winner of the Young Filmmaker Award (twice) at Sparrowland (Queensland) and Best South Australian Filmmaker Under 24 (Fleurieu). His short films (7 to date) have won numerous awards at international festivals, including Best International Film at Ridgewood (New Jersey), Hang On To Your Shorts (New Jersey) and Best Film at Prague Youth, Moscow Children’s and San Antonio. In Australia, he’s won top honours at Adelaide Film Festival Youth, Fleurieu Film Festival, Sparrowland, Setting Sun, Screen It and many more (over 35 to date). As a writer, actor and director, Harrison is unique in that he also undertakes all post-production work for his films. Harrison is a Rolland May Performing Arts Scholar at Prince Alfred College and a frequent advocate for the arts within the South Australian state government, Carclew and wider community.
Harrison has performed leading roles in over 35 stage productions since 2020, including multiple seasons at Adelaide University's Elder Conservatorium, Adelaide Fringe, the Royal Show, Pelican Productions, Adelaide Youth Theatre, Northern Light, Shane Davidson, etc. Harrison starred as Young Elvis in the Adelaide season of Elvis: A Musical Revolution (David Venn Enterprises) at Her Majesty's and piloted the role of Rapskullio in Between the Lines Jr with New York producers at Junior Theatre Festival Australia 2023 (Newcastle, NSW). Harrison is frontman and pianist in two rock bands, where he enjoys writing songs as much as he enjoys writing scripts, and produces under his own label, Fastest Fox Films. He must often be wrestled from the piano and guitar at bedtime.
