Director Statement

The documentary ENSAIO SOBRE A IMUTAÇÃO is an ode to human feeling. Feelings bloom and fade, anytime and anywhere. This film is about the process of overcoming a feeling – whatever feeling it may be: loss, unhappiness, defeat...

The initial idea for this film was to take the feeling of loss and explore it. Until the moment I realized that I didn't want to give that. I felt like I had to push myself forward and pull the viewer along with me.There is more to life and to feelings in general than loss. I wanted to talk about it, but I wanted to focus on how we manage to find a way to live with it everyday. And this is where the transformation comes in. The transformation of our inner being, of our way of learning to live with the situations that sting us, that bring us down. Anxiety has been taking our breath away for days, but little by little, we learn to breathe again.

Throughout the documentary, I will try to defend feelings from nature, objects and elements of everyday life. It will have a procedure developed by search and discovery, as it is, by search and discovery, that we decipher how to deal with our feelings.
This creation and development process may not follow a linear order, and honestly, it will be the best way to represent what I want to demonstrate.

Nobody feels linear every day, we all have our ups and downs. We both scream, laugh or cry. And this is what I most want to demonstrate.
ENSAIO SOBRE A IMUTAÇÃO will be experimental and sensorial in nature.
