Nikita Zarazhevsky (Khodykin) born in Saratov in 1997. From his school years, he was fond of creating video works. In 2017, Nikita completed his first documentary about Rimma Ivanovna Belyakova. After he entered the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov in the direction of "Television". In 2018, he began working at the Nizhnevolzhskaya newsreel studio. In 2022, Nikita presented his second film "F2" about modern photography. He completed his graduation film about the Volga Germans.
The film "Eigengrau" is a personal statement in an experimental form. There are a lot of films about the Volga Germans, and I wanted to make the most memorable and exciting. In this film, I explore not only the topic of the deportation of the Volga Germans, but also the verge of documentary and privacy. That is why the film is full of atypical techniques for a documentary film.
