Director Statement

I wrote “Egghead & Twinkie” two years ago, when I was fresh out of the closet and starting to see the humor in the entire situation. Since then, the script has brought thirty crew members together, fought for the hearts (and pockets) of backers on Indiegogo, and inspired an insanely talented cast. I could not be more grateful for how far this project has come, because Twinkie’s story is important. As an Asian American and a proud member of the LGBT community, I know firsthand how rare it is to see positive minority representation on screen. After years of frustration, “Egghead & Twinkie” is my response to the problem. So buckle up and enjoy the ride, because we all know coming out of the closet isn’t easy... but it can also be kind of hilarious.
