Director Biography - J. Eugene Rich

J. Eugene Rich (aka Jerome Eugene Richardson) was born in Savannah, GA Oct 1st, 1974. Throughout his entire young life as a student, the arts were always a part of his being. In 1995, Mr. Rich's family relocated to Atlanta, GA but he felt Atlanta wasn't big enough for his passion at that time.

In 2003, Jerome moved to L.A. on a whim without notice and threw all care to the wind. From the moment he stepped foot into the city of hope, he hit the ground running as an extra on all of the major studio lots. This was his full time employment though having no car did not make things easy nonetheless.

In 2004, Richardson would garner his SAG eligibility on the set of his first film as a Border Patrol Officer/featured extra in The Terminal directed by Steven Spielberg with Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

He would later go on to appear in several other films as well. In 2005, Jerome received an internship on season 5 of Dr. Phil working as a PA however, he was simultaneously hired on as a transcriber in a separate department. Work at the Dr. Phil Show gave him the insight into how to create his very own talk show, H2O as well a game show, Karaoke Hollywood. Both aired on local television as well the internet.

His stint at Dr. Phil would lead to him meeting Kel Mitchell of Keenan & Kel, Good Burger, All That, etc. The two would later develop a working relationship as well as a personal friendship. Through Kel, Jerome was able to work with him on his very own feature entitled Dance Fu (Chicago Pulaski Jones/working title). Here he would be under the direction of Cedric The Entertainer for his directorial debut and work with such acts as comedian Affion Crockett and a few others from that film. Rich would wear many hats namely as the casting assistant, a production assistant and a wardrobe assistant.

In 2010, Jerome wrote Ed & Dan's Mazel Tov Adventure while homeless living in his mini van for 7 excruciating months of the housing market crash. All of Hollywood was affected just as the rest of the country. There were hardly any jobs to go around. But through it all, he managed to write a comedy instead of a sad drama in the midst of such trying times.
