ESO NO RIMA (THAT DOESN´T RHYME)

In “Eso No Rima” my goal was to capture in a very organic and visceral way the essence of the complexities of a couple's everyday situations, the challenges they face, the resolutions they seek, and the profound impact that art can have on our lives.

Through each of the chapters or episodes, I will take the audience into the daily contradictions that Benito and Analía face in identifiable situations, drawing parallels with moments in the audience's own life, evoking a sense of familiarity and introspection, inspiring viewers to embrace their own creative journeys while maintaining the necessary harmony in their relationships. It is a celebration of the poetic spirit, a tribute to the unsung heroes of art who navigate the intricate dance between imagination and reality.

Visually, I wanted this film to have its own language both in its structure and in its narrative so as to seek a dynamic contrast between the poetic world that Benito inhabits and the pragmatic reality that Analía embraces. The use of skilful framing and composition, surreal images and subtle camera movements will transport the audience to Benito's poetic realm, while a more realistic aesthetic will represent Analía's practical world. This visual juxtaposition will accentuate the divergence between her perspectives and serve as a metaphor for the contracting facets of her. I very carefully chose the locations, staging, lighting and music to enhance each of the emotional and thematic elements of each episode to immerse the audience in the experiences and dilemmas of these two funny characters.

Ultimately, look for a cinema of a wide range of emotions showing the beautiful complexities that arise when people with divergent perspectives come together, inviting the audience to reflect on their own lives and relationships. “Eso No Rima” is a candid personal exploration of the struggles artists and their loved ones face, highlighting the universal themes of creativity, commitment, and the pursuit of dreams.

En “Eso No rima” mi objetivo fue capturar de una manera muy orgánica y visceral la esencia de las complejidades de situaciones cotidianas de una pareja, los desafíos que enfrentan, las resoluciones que buscan y el profundo impacto que el arte puede tener en nuestras vidas.

A través de cada episodio, adentrare al publico en las contradicciones diarias que enfrentan Benito y Analía en situaciones identificables, estableciendo paralelismos con momentos de la propia vida de la audiencia, evocando una sensación de familiaridad e introspección, inspirando a los espectadores a abrazar sus propios viajes creativos mientras mantienen la armonía necesaria en sus relaciones. Es una celebración del espíritu poético, un tributo a los héroes anónimos del arte que navegan la intrincada danza entre la imaginación y la realidad.

Visualmente, quería que esta película tuviera su propio lenguaje tanto en su estructura como en su narrativa así busque un contraste dinámico entre el mundo poético que habita Benito y la pragmática realidad que abraza Analía. El uso de hábiles encuadres y composiciones, imágenes surrealistas y sutiles movimientos de cámara transportarán a la audiencia al reino poético de Benito, mientras que una estética más realista representará el mundo práctico de Analía. Esta yuxtaposición visual acentuará la divergencia entre sus perspectivas y servirá como metáfora de sus facetas contratantes. Elegí muy cuidadosamente las locaciones, la puesta en escena, la iluminación y la música para realzar cada uno de los elementos emocionales y temáticos de cada episodio para sumergir a la audiencia en las experiencias y dilemas de estos dos divertidos personajes.
