INTERVIEW WITH A SHARK (VOST - English dubbed available)
Sharks are capable of communicating, but are humans capable of understanding them?
This is the question Steven Surina, a specialist in shark behavior and body language, asks himself after experiencing the unthinkable: a brutal attack by a bull shark... one he knew very well. No warning signs, no perceptible alert, an incomprehensible failure for someone who has made this behavioral reading his expertise.
Physically unharmed but psychologically shaken, Steven begins a profound self-reflection. How could he have missed a sign? What did he miss in the interaction? This doubt marks the starting point of a personal and scientific quest across the globe.
In the Azores, the Maldives, and then the Philippines, Steven sets out to meet his longtime friends, divers specializing in shark behavior, but above all, people in whom he has deep trust. But beyond their observations, these companions help him gradually rebuild his confidence, restoring meaning where doubt had crept in.
As he progresses in his quest, Steven realizes that it's not just a search for answers about shark behavior, but a reconciliation with himself. He understands that the shark becomes a mirror of his own fears, his need for control, his connection to others and to the living.
