This adventurous, fast-paced short follows 3 aliens from Planet Astra that love sneaking off to the Milky Way just to watch the Earth Dances. Recalling stories from their grandpa, Comet and Aquarius introduce young Azhar to the lively world of ENSO and it's dancers, El Niño and La Niña, though can't help but notice how things have been changing since they'd come with Grandpa...

Worried about domino-like shifts and the future their favorite dancers, the 3 siblings venture in closer to see if they can find out what's going wrong.

This short was produced in Columbia's Climate & Society Program as an educational physics short on the dynamics of ENSO, it's moving parts, and how they relate to changes in our atmosphere with increased GHGs. 2021.

Director Biography - Bee Guzman-Elliott

As a creative climate communicator and passionate storyteller, Bee is drawn to exploring ways of increasing accessibility and interest in climate education, media and stories. They yearn for stories that open invitations for deeper empathy and connection to help inform how we relate to the world around us and ourselves in such turbulent times of disconnection and imbalance.

Studying at Columbia's Climate School, they are currently interested in exploring fusions of somatic-ecology, physics, and creative storytelling to share deeper understandings of our global climate systems, dynamics, variability, and our relationships to them, ourselves, and each other on this phenomenon of a living planet.
