THE FAREWELL
The story of three different characters who come to a daily rental village house at different times.
CEMIL:In the village house where "Cemil" came to write his script, he meets Yıldız, who takes care of the house and garden.
ZEHRA:A politically influential person kills "Zehra's" little son by hitting him with his car. Zehra's lawyer places Zehra in this house to save her from the indirect harassment of the person who caused her son's death.
ARİF:"Arif" is in fear due to the threats of a group of radicals. He hurriedly sells everything and comes to this village house, where he had been before with his family, to wait for the plane to Belgium to take off the next day. At the end of his phone call with his sister Zeliha, he has to face a reality he never expected.
By the way, the name "Dünya" in Cemil's scenario means "world-earth-environment" and more in Turkish.

Hüseyin Gürses
Born in Istanbul in 1972. Graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Painting in 1996. Took courses in the philosophy department during and after school. Later, he pushed his artistic activities to the background and focused on other areas of interest such as archaeological restoration, baroque string instrument making, permaculture and natural farming. He adopted a quiet, productive and introverted lifestyle. Totalitarian regimes that affected the entire world also affected his country and life and caused him to reconsider his life and perspective. He radically changed his lifestyle with his philosophical and political short film "Elveda", which he shot in 2025 and won awards at various festivals, and as of 2025, he began to focus on his artistic activities again.
Actually, this film has no budget. We wrote the script and shot it with our camera. Apart from the festival participation fee, it cost us a Premiere Pro membership. We, two people and two cats did the best we could with the resources we had. This movie was either going to be like this or not at all. We are quite happy with the result.
We hope we can manage to touch you.
I am very happy that thanks to this production, I had the opportunity to address the subjects that I had only addressed with a plastic language in my paintings for years, from a different perspective, with the language of cinema. All my works are a whole. They are all about the same subjects. To see my some other works, please click on the links in News&Reviews.
This production is revolves around many different "narrative forms" and different "narratives".
I must admit that the film has a very complex structure. It has a harsh yet poetic language. On the other hand, it resembles a kind of political film noir. All this makes it disturbing for some, difficult to understand for others, and quite authentic and original for others. I believe that it is a very unusual and ambitious film, despite its modest nature.
I have full faith that the impact it will have on the minds that will understand our work will be considerable.
Thoughts are not respected, people are respected. Thoughts are subject to evaluation.People need to be made aware of non-inclusive ways of thinking. While adopting an inclusive approach to building this awareness is both fundamentally and politically correct, it also leads us to be unwilling to see, unable to see, and unable to show a significant portion of existing reality. I believe it's crucial to make non-inclusive perspectives visible. The reality of the country I live in particularly compels me to do so. In my country, divisive and polarizing ideas are spreading like a disease everywhere at an incredible rate, while the individuals and communities targeted by these ideas live in fear.Of course, let's be inclusive, tolerant and kind, but let's not ignore the events that took place and the obvious facts that have passed the test of causality.
Due to the irrational political environment in our country, we preferred to make the film with two people in order not to put anyone in a difficult situation. All rights of this production belong to us.
We pushed all limits to make this project possible.
Document images and audio recordings are based on facts, but have been completely reconstructed, modified and reproduced.
So they are fictional.
The original script written by Hüseyin Gürses.
I , Hüseyin Gürses composed and played the music.
Home is the house we live in, which belongs to us.
I made the animation.
By the way I hope Emine Çelik's amazing performance doesn't get stuck in the language barrier.
