Ekanta, as a word derives multiple meanings in many languages and etymologies such as Hindi, Sanskrit, Jainism, Prakrit, Buddhism, Pali, Marathi. The many meanings being isolation, conclusion(yukti), lone-unit, absolute, solitary, apart, invariable and perpetual.
Shot in Mumbai, the 5th most densely populated city in the world where life never stops breathing and it breathes loud enough to keep the dreams alive.
With the bleak future during the mid-2020s, it was a time where all of us shared the same fears and questions, this short is an effort to portray the emptiness and the vague strand of hope we all shared.
Ekanta is the visual storytelling of the mutual loneliness that the whole globe shared as everybody was confined indoors. The artist aims to provide an open perspective film depicting the solitude of the once busy streets and the dilemma of the empty vicinity around.

Director Biography - Anubhav Scharma

Anubhav Scharma is a Mumbai based FIlmmaker and Cinematographer.
Hails from Chhattisgarh, the state of forests and indigenous tribal culture, after working extensively in the local sector at an early age, Anubhav moved his interests and projects outside on a national level as well. Dedicated most of his early career in travel film-making across the nation.
At the age of 24, he shifted to Mumbai to pursue his career in cinematography. Throughout the next 6-7 years, Anubhav contributed to multiple national and international projects. Ranging from the mainstream Hindi industry to indie filmmakers. Also undertook documentaries and worked on projects with global production houses and musicians.
With a career spanning almost a decade, Anubhav has been commissioned multiple times from local and national governments as well.
As a director, he is always trying to bring out unique stories and fresher perspectives. With his aim of making cinema that speaks without the barriers of language he truly is a masterful visual storyteller
