Director Statement

I made Eighteen because I came out of a similar situation. Often times in the black community we put our children out of the house before they are ready, either mentally, financially or socially. We're taught that college is the only way out and I wanted to shed some light on the child that wasn't an athlete, that didn't get good grades or get into college and what them turning 18 and being thrown out into the world to fend for themselves looks like. What they experience knowing they aren't prepared and have nowhere to go.
