Ery Claver (1987) was born and raised in Luanda (Angola). As a cinematographer, his versatility comes from his diverse path as a creative writer and photographer. His passion for the camera starts in 2008 in Lisbon, while he was collaborating with the Portuguese film producer “Até ao fim do mundo” as camera assistant for the short film “Momentos de Glória (2008) by António Duarte. Back to Luanda in 2010, Ery participated in the documentary “Ritmos Urbanos” from Isilda Hurst and Córean Dú as photography director and co-directed the documentaries “Torre do Kinaxixi” and “A Kazukuta Kabokumeu”. After an experience at Semba Comunicação, Ery was invited to get in the collective Geração 80, the most renowned Angolan film producer. At Geração 80, Ery covers a different range of tasks from operating the camera to the conception of ideas for new films and documentaries. His most recognized short films are “A luz no quarto era vermelha porque não existia amor” and “Há um zumbido, há um mosquito são dois”. Both short films were screened in the context of “FuckinGlobo” (2016 and 2017), in Luanda, CPLP Short Film Festival, in New York and LUUANDA, by HANGAR, in Lisbon. In 2018, his short film "Lúcia no céu com semáforos" was screened at the International Experimental Film and Video Festival, in Zurich and during the Africa Perspectives series of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (France), in 2019. Also in 2019, Ery participated as cinematographer and co-writer on the film Ar Condicionado, which premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2020 edition.
