Director's Statement
The documentary Doushan tells the story of a young boy living with muscular dystrophy and 96% physical disability—a boy who, despite enduring constant physical pain, possesses a remarkable spirit and an inspiring outlook on life. He has not only refused to surrender to his condition but has also become a source of hope and strength for those around him.
This film is an effort to amplify the voices of those who, in silence, battle their limitations and live with hope. I believe that sharing this story can shine a light into the darkness of those trapped in despair—a reminder to us all that to be human is to keep going, even through the hardest of times.
Through Doushan, I aim to invite the international community to see people with disabilities through a more compassionate lens—not with pity, but with respect for their strength of spirit and their ability to create meaningful lives.
I hope this film becomes a source of hope for the hearts that need it most.
