My goal in creating this documentary short is to celebrate Annie and also show the freedom of skateboarding . Skateboarding when i was a kid was predominantly male. I worked with Annie on her band's music videos over the years and eventually saw her skateboarding in a whole new way and wanted to capture the queer scene that they had created in Toronto and how the scene has changed so much to be more inclusive and open to everyone.
I hope this film inspires many queer and transgender folk to express themselves creatively in their own way no matter what stands in front of you. Thank you so much for watching and i'm really proud and excited to share Dream Tricks.
