Dream Girl

Eeyad, a middle-aged Lebanese American hospital pharmacist, lives suspended between devotion and despair. Haunted by his mother’s death and his father’s cruelty, he finds solace only in prayer and childhood cartoons. When he meets Dream Girl, a hospital volunteer quoting Winnie the Pooh, he sees a sign of divine mercy.

Dream Girl tells of a sick grandmother denied pain relief. Moved, Eeyad smuggles narcotics from the pharmacy. Yet what begins as charity becomes corruption; his coworker Tigran lures him into deeper crime, while Dream Girl feeds his delusion that love can sanctify sin. Scripture and conscience duel as flies and shadows infest his world.

By Christmas Eve, Eeyad abandons faith for the promise of escape: one last heist. But when the raid goes wrong and childlike Maxie dies, redemption dissolves. Fleeing with Tigran and Dream Girl to Canada, Eeyad dreams of a new life in the “Hundred Acre?Wood.” In a Windsor Casino hotel, as snow falls outside, she poisons their meal and reveals her truth — not angel or refugee, but a manipulative addict shaped by her own abuse.

Eeyad dies mid-breath, the Qur'an’s words of mercy echoing over his lifeless faith. Police converge as his phone rings with one final call from Peggy, the only person who ever offered pure kindness.

Dream Girl closes on rising sunlight and a swarm of flies — a final judgment on mercy without wisdom.
