Drawn In...
DCP AvailableTen-year-old Anais spends her nights drawing on a tablet, alone in the bedroom that once reflected her boundless imagination. When one of her drawings begins changing on its own, she is drawn toward an inexplicable presence lurking in the corner of the room, forcing her to confront a haunting reflection of herself.
A manifestation of childhood, imagination and identity slowly consumed by modern technology.

Catarina César (often called Catarina De Cèzanne) is an independent filmmaker and screenwriter from Portugal, known for directing the retro Sci-Fi Digital horror "After Link".
She was born in Moita, a very small fishing village in Portugal. She speaks 3 languages and holds a master's degree in Film/TV production. She has been travelling around the world alone.
The depths of the digital web have always fascinated me from a philosophical perspective.
As a child born in the early 90s, I have witnessed the passage between the analogue and the digital world like no other generation. I've travelled and lived in different countries, learned different languages and cultures, had years of long-distance online relationships, as well as physical ones, and felt the pull between connections and the disconnection gap that modern technologies have brought and realised how it shapes us.
I have moved to Newcastle upon Tyne and started interacting more with my friends' kids, whose personality, identity, social skills and awareness were massively influenced by both modern technology and the 2 years of Covid Lockdown. The matter goes beyond the "kids do not play outside anymore"; some of them do not play at all, and it is based on that fact that I decided to make this film.
Like most of us, filmmakers, I did not grow up in a city, or with money or industry contacts. I often connect with local filmmakers and immigrants who wish to build something atmospheric, artistically beautiful and equally meaningful. I hope our journey can inspire new filmmakers to do the same, despite all odds and challenges.
This film is dedicated to the loving memory of Patricia Kerridge (1937 – 2026), grandmother of our Hair and Make-up Artist. Her home made the making of this film possible.
