Director Biography - Maxfield Biggs

Max is an awarded, California-based filmmaker and artist. After finishing a cli-fi short made entirely in NYC parks, "Stomach of the Earth", their focus shifted recently towards animated works and documentary to discover and abstract the living world around them. Recent works include an impact film about mental health in the climate crisis and a creature feature involving plastic bags, with a doc or two on the horizon.

Director Statement

This film is based on a poem I published a few years ago. I like to think of the friendship between this trans man and their chain-smoking dog as something specific yet pretty universal, and this short encompasses the complexities of kinship, relationships, and caring for another.
