Dog Man EP1

Once the frontman of rock band “Mazhi Go”, Chou Ko-chieh rode a pretty face and raw talent to instant superstardom. Yet years later, he becomes a delusional, washed-up musician (Chang Hsiao Chuan) who can’t write a note and is barely tolerated by his wife, Chen Li-hsuan (Tarcy Su). How did his 25-year-old self (Berant Zhu) — who had the world at his feet — turn into this?

As he struggles to fix his fractured marriage, a fantastical twist of fate sends him on a journey to rediscover the rhythm of love.

Director Statement

This story began with a simple question: how do men love, and how do they lose their way? From that came a portrait of marriage told through a man’s eyes.

Together with a group of gifted and generous actors, I went on a journey through youth, regret, and the quiet confusion of middle age. Dog Man is about the choices we make, and the ones we wish we could make again. Wherever you are in life, I hope you may find a part of yourself in this story — and the courage to keep going.
