Brie Electra is a writer, director, producer, and actress from Mineral Wells, Texas. She currently resides between Fort Worth and Los Angeles. In 2023, she directed the award-winning documentary 'Underdawgs' which aired statewide on all Texas PBS stations. In 2024, she worked on Paramount+'s 'Lioness: Season 2'. Her dream for the near future is to direct her first feature film in Texas.
I wrote 'Ditz' for a college screenwriting class in 2022 and finally got the chance to make it at the end of 2024. This film has a subjective point-of-view through the eyes and emotions of a teenager struggling with her family dynamics (as most teenagers do). Wanting to study the camaraderie that only siblings can experience, I chose to center this story around a family that is rich and powerful. I wanted the daughters' obsessions with perfectionism to be a byproduct of their public-facing, dueling identities. This story explores how a "perfect", magazine-cover-ready family reacts and treats one another after conflicts arise.
