Conor has a keen interest in writing and cinematography and is one of Portside Picture’s resident camera operators while also co-heading creative production. Conor most recently wrote and directed the short film “Dissonant”. He hopes to continue working and collaborating on creative projects while developing his skills as a director and cinematographer.
This film is about the loss of creativity and the pursuit of purpose. I wrote and directed this film as an expression of the desperation that drives many of the creative minds that occupy this industry and others like it. It's also a cautionary tale, how far is too far and how far do you have to go before you realise you've sacrificed too much of yourself. I adore the films of David Lynch and Gaspar Noe both for their unconventional narratives and the unique visual language they use, I appreciate films that challenge me and focus on conveying a feeling rather than a message. That was my goal with Dissonant, the feel of an artist losing control.
