A compassionate catholic teacher panics when she finds a suicide note in her classroom and attempts to discover the vulnerable pupil.

After a long hard day of teaching, Mrs Armstrong marks her students work when a piece of paper on the floor catches her eye. She goes to inspect the scrunched up piece of paper and discovers a suicide note from one of her pupils. Her days of catholic teaching, suddenly becomes a hunting ground to save the vulnerable pupil, and it turns out that all what she thought she knew of her class she knew nothing at all.

Dismissed is a social impact film that explores the key signs of young suicide and bully victims overlooked in the classroom.

Director Biography - Aysha Scott

Aysha Scott is a writer, producer, director and the owner of A Scott Productions and A Scott Academy. A Scott Productions is a film and media company that she formed back in 2015 to explore and express her creativity to create social impact films that will make a difference to humanity. A Scott Academy is a recently formed media, film, acting and creative writing school for young people.

For many years Aysha trained as an actor at the critically acclaimed Anna Scher theatre school and has over 20 years of professional acting experience working on various acting assignments. It was during a difficult period in her life, that she took the plunge to change career paths to pursue her long desired passion for message-based storytelling and has since carved out a progressive career as an independent filmmaker.

In 2014, after graduating from South Bank University she was awarded a 2.1 and won the Course Directors Prize for outstanding achievements in Creative Writing, and was described as an "exemplary, high calibre graduate of London South Bank".

Scott's co-written and produced feature film Residential (2014) premiered at the British Urban Film Festival in 2016 and was nominated for 3 awards in BUFF 2017, including best feature film. Then she went on to successfully make her award winning written and produced short film It Still Hurts (2016) under her company slate. In 2018 she collaborated with US award-winning director Antoine Allen to help produce Voice of Reason, which has since won multiple awards. Dismissed will be her Directorial Debut, that she also wrote, produced and edited. All Scott’s films are self-financed from her own resources, but she hopes to set her mark on the film world to be able to outsource funding to be able to make feature length productions and is set to direct her Feature Film Absent, a screenplay she wrote based on her experiences as a single mother.

Scott is also known for producing other media content such as ETHOS online magazine and BIG BROTHAS music video and her published piece Nappy Head Girl feature on The British Black List. She was also a part of the *5 star production Another Day, with her collaborative theatre piece Unspoken.
