Dirty Beans
In the humid seaside town of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, all anyone seems to care about is catching cod and minding everyone else's business. At the local Dirty Beans Cafe, all anyone seems to care about is coffee and providing a welcoming space for the community. However, inside of this bright respite from the humid harbour, the seven members of the blended Breve family balance certain secrets that threaten to scald each and every relationship.

Marz Gebhardt (she/they) is a 25 year old Canadian multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and writer whose practice combines hand-crafted clay stop-motion, music videos, short films and documentaries, and original sound. Their work centers fantastical and emotionally grounded narratives that explore queer and feminine identities and chosen forms of belonging through fantastical and intentionally handmade visual worlds. Working as a director, cinematographer, and screenwriter, Gebhardt produces visually distinctive music videos and short films that integrate tactile animation, narrative-based filmmaking, and her original sound design as central storytelling forces.
