Digital dissidents

They are not on social networks, they do not have smartphones and pandemics exacerbated the transfer of a number of social activities to the online space they watch with critical apprehension. Who are the people who still live in 2021 without the generally called digital tweaks and what are their motivations?

The medium-length documentary "Digital dissidents" reflects the growing disillusionment with technological progress, which has so far been seen as something given and unquestionable. The individual characters, who are mainly connected by a greater or lesser connection to the art world, explain their analogue attitudes in it - they stand behind them despite the fact that they are often perceived by their surroundings as morous or delay.

The sociologist Petr Lupac, who has long been dedicated to the phenomena of the digital divide and digital exclusion, accompanies his personal stories and thus the entire film. It places the digitalisation process in which we are all involved and leads the viewer to an unpleasant realization: if there is a large group of people for whom the non-use of digital technologies is a matter of choice and personal decision, how big is a group of people who do not own digital technology at all or can't use?
