DAVID MILESI

From the age of eleven, David Milesi has nurtured a passion for filmmaking and writing, a journey that has continued uninterrupted ever since. Upon completing a degree in multimedia graphics, David Milesi had the opportunity to learn and grow as an assistant director on various sets, including productions for Amazon Prime Video. These experiences were instrumental in gaining practical insights and skills, ultimately leading to the creation of Demodami Studios.

Driven by a profound curiosity about people and a deep sense of empathy, David Milesi finds great fulfillment in the art of directing. They believe that cinema offers a unique way to explore and understand ourselves and the world around us.

DIANDRA ELETTRA MOSCOGIURI

Diandra Elettra Moscogiuri was born on July 11, 1992 in Bari, but grown in Manduria. Acting and ballet student, after high school moves to Rome to take her first degree in Performing Arts at La Sapienza, then she decides to move to Milan to improve her studies with a Master of Arts in Communication at University of Milan and starts working for cinema, national Tv and theater. In 2016 she founds her indie cinema production, Demodami Studios, with David Milesi. In 2018 they create their first movie, Dead Star, first experience as screenplayer and producer. She is also an author of novels: Tequila Suicide (2014), Artemis' Cabaret (2019) and The Man of Thorns (2024).

Writer Statement

We like to tell stories that strip away facades, revealing the raw, the beautiful, and the uncomfortable truths of human desire. Die by Desire is our take on a neo-western psychological drama, an intimate story wrapped in an aesthetic that nods to the western genre—but through a lens of sensuality, irony, and razor-sharp dialogue.

We wanted to craft a film that feels unapologetically bold, where every glance, every silence, every choice carries weight. This isn’t a film about heroes or villains—it’s about the collision of desires, the tension between freedom and consequence. The characters don’t just speak; they challenge, seduce, and provoke.

We chose a visceral, poetic, and daring storytelling approach to depict a simple story built on dreams and broken dreams.
