The Administration of the Internet

Who is actually managing the internet? What's it like? A short film in search of answers in uncharted territory.

A film about the chaotic everyday office life of "The Administration of the Internet". The employees are responsible for order and organization in the network. They still work with outdated technology, only communicate with the outside world via a pneumatic tube and are obviously completely overwhelmed with their work.

Director Statement

The film tries to break down the complex, digital processes of the net to a technically analogue office community. Contrasting with the supposedly brave new world of the internet is the film's old-fashioned, bureaucratic portrayal. Here we encounter the dark, unknown sides of the WWW.
The inspiration for the idea came primarily from the profession of content moderator. A job where people pull illegal content out of the timelines for internet corporations like Facebook or Google.
How do we really use the internet? And what does that say about us? The film looks at people from the point of view of the internet, presented in a satirical, exaggerated way.
