Did I ever tell you? (2020)

VALIDA BABA (1988) is an Azeri film director, writer and poet. She holds an M.A. in Humanities at Anglo-American University in Prague (Prague,2019) and a BA in Business Administration at Azerbaijan State Economic University (Baku, 2010). She also studied a Short Study Program in English at the Department of Photography (Documentary Photograph by the atelier of Viktor Kolář) at FAMU (The Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague), (Prague, 2013).

During this time, she had discovered her passion for cinema and writing. She started to make experimental films and gradually continued with short films and currently, she is working on her first feature documentary film (Movements of the Spirit-Mind; A universal science of the orders and the disorders by the Hellinger Sciencia), which is in a research state. Her work experiences come from different areas because of her love for art and its forms. She also loves diversity and teamwork. In Baku, she worked for humanitarian organisations and media companies. In Prague, where she spent more than 9 years, she had worked for theatre companies and cinema, as well as for independent projects. Her areas of expertise are Cinema, Theatre, Philosophy, and Media & Communication. In the theatre she held positions as directors’ assistant, script supervisor, critic and project developer. In the cinema she has been working with young directors as directors’ assistant, script supervisor, and costume designer’s assistant. Beside that she is a great photographer and poet, whose work has been published in many journals and magazines. Currently, she is located in Baku/Azerbaijan.
