Mel Andre is a queer documentarian and director with Haitian, Dominican, and Cuban roots. Their goal is to provide a platform for people to share their stories, particularly on topics such as LGBTQ issues, community, social justice, spirituality, and culture. Through their documentaries, Mel aims to give a voice to those who may not otherwise be heard.
As the director and producer of the documentary "Dia De Los Ninos," my goal was to give a voice to a community that has been overlooked for far too long. This film focuses on Angel Macias' tireless efforts to provide the children of Aquiles Serden in Jalisco, Mexico with opportunities that were previously unavailable to them. Through her work, Angel is helping to shape the future of this community, and I am honored to share their story with the world.
