In the beginning, a newlywed 13-year-old girl (mangla) and a middle aged man (ballu) traveled in an autorickshaw. The man is taking her to his house. Mangla’s father sold her for money, and mangla is unaware of what is going to happen to her next. The man beat and raped the girl on the first night.
While living with the beast, Mangla finds a connection to the world outside through the sounds from the neighbor's television. Her husband tortures her every night, but during the day, when he is at work, she finds joy in listening to cartoon series, songs, and more from the neighborhood television. These sounds offer her healing and a temporary escape from her current life.

Director Biography - Grace Gill

Grace Gill is a rising director in the film industry, known for her storytelling and directorial prowess. Born and raised in India, she discovered her passion for filmmaking at the Asian School of Film and Television. She began her career directing music videos and short films.
To date, she has directed 10 music videos, 3 short films, and has written the screenplay for one feature film.
