"Desconocido" is about "being a son", and being a son specifically at a certain stage of life. At this stage when we must face the "monsters" that torment our parents, without any knowledge of how to do it, and which once we finish facing, will have completely changed us, as if it were a kind of mantle passage. Not all of us are grandparents, parents, or siblings, but we are all at one point or another in our lives, someone's children. I decided to approach the idea of cosmic horror and certain of H.P Lovecraft's conceptions about fear and fear of the unknown more specifically. I found it interesting to return to these ideas by Lovecraft about monsters, entities or beings that are impossible to define, name, or explain for their characters, and therefore so terrifying that they are absurd to measure, just like the monsters we face when old age comes into our life.
