Experiencing Interruptions?

Depths

Depths is an ethereal, AI-driven short film that immerses viewers in a serene, otherworldly expanse. Created using Midjourney and RunwayML, the piece evokes a deep-sea dreamscape where organic forms—reminiscent of x-rayed coral and bioluminescent fungi—pulse and flow in hypnotic harmony.

With its calming, meditative rhythm, Depths invites stillness. The visuals feel both microscopic and vast, an exploration of unseen ecosystems that exist at the edges of perception. The interplay of light, texture, and movement suggests an alien yet familiar world—one that soothes rather than overwhelms.

An intentionally pixelated, dust-like texture runs through the film, adding a strange, cyberpunk-like atmosphere. This visual noise contrasts the organic beauty, hinting at the tension between digital artifact and natural form, future and decay.

By blending generative AI with a deeply intentional artistic vision, Depths transcends mere digital experimentation. It is an ambient, sensorial experience designed not to dazzle, but to quiet the mind—offering a fleeting moment of tranquility in an increasingly chaotic world.

Director Statement

I’m drawn to work that lives between worlds—emotional and technical, human and artificial, intimate and vast. My background in design and technology has shaped the way I create: I start with a feeling, then let the medium evolve around it.

Much of my recent work explores the intersection of AI and filmmaking through a feminine lens. I’m interested in how technology can expand narrative language rather than replace it—and how the female voice can be heard and seen in industries long dominated by men.

My first experimental short film, Depths, is a meditative short film born from a hopeful state of mind—the result of years of self-learning, reflection, and a personal pursuit of calm. I wanted to create something that invites people to pause. To feel still. To take a breath.

The film blends generative visuals, melodic sound, and organic movement to create a hypnotic experience—something that lives between technology and nature. It doesn’t follow a plot, but a pulse. A rhythm. A feeling.

I’ve always been drawn to beauty—especially the kind that makes you feel something. Depths is an invitation into that kind of beauty: immersive, emotional, and gently otherworldly.
