Dear child, smile please!
A little girl, about eight years old, happily draws a flower while singing to herself. Her joy is shattered when she hears her parents fighting and screaming. Scared, she covers her ears with her hands to block the noise. A dark, tunnel-like transition pulls her into an abandoned, dirty house where she wanders, terrified, searching for an exit. Exhausted and crying, she suddenly sees a light falling on her face. She follows it and steps through a doorway, finding herself back at home. A camera is pointed at her as her parents say, “Dear child, smile please.” She forces a smile, and the film ends on that image, accompanied by the sound of her happy song.
