Dayaar (Homeland)
A Short Documentary about 2 Afghan Artists who have relocated to New Delhi for refuge. The film is centered around refugees, who are often misunderstood and marginalised in our society. Each artist featured has a unique modality, one is a Calligraphy Artist, Daniyal Zaheer and the other is Zehra Mohammadi, an aspiring musician. The world is aware of the challenges and difficulties faced by Afghanistan in the recent past, their stories are the stories of many others who have had to run or escape away from their homeland. This is an important and timely topic that deserves to be shared with a wider audience. The film explores ideas of transformation, transition, loss and finding home. Made by a team of 5 film students, The film is commissioned by The AJK Mass Communication Research Centre , Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi as part of their Masters Degree Programme.

Zaid Ali Khan, is an Indian Filmmaker based in New Delhi. His debut film Khwaabb was a sports based independent film that won many accolades. He was also part of the Direction Faculty at the Annapurna College of Film & Media, one of India's premiere Film Schools. He is an alumni of the Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia University & Central Film School, London. His recent documentary project is Dayaar (Homeland) based on Afghan refugee artists living in Delhi.
