Daniel Lucca Parenti

Born and raised in Walnut Creek California, a suburb of the San Francisco Bay Area, Daniel Lucca has lived his life totally immersed in the Arts. Starting like many kids, at a young age he began learning musical instruments like the Piano and Drum Set, and then eventually settled on the String and Electric Bass. Earning is Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from California State University at Hayward, Daniel Lucca began his career in the arts as a Professional Bassist, Composer, and Musical Director in the SF Bay Area.

Having the opportunity to perform with many Legends in the Music Industry like, Rosemary Clooney, Lionel Hampton, Pete Escovedo and the great Sheila E, Daniel Lucca, after nearly 25 years in the industry, has become a top call bassist and has released seven full length original albums of his own (D-lucca). He also has Two Grammy nominations on his belt for the work he did with Rosemary Clooney.

In the last several years Daniel Lucca has turned his efforts towards education and is now a resident faculty member at the California Jazz Conservatory (Berkeley CA) and the highly acclaimed Oakland School for the Arts (Oakland CA). His main focus is to pass on the knowledge to the next generations as he believes it is selfish not too.

As a kid growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, Daniel Lucca, was drawn to the brilliant works of George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and of course the amazing music of John Williams. This set the stage for his love of Music and Movies. However it wasn’t until the spring of 2020, when the Covid-19 Pandemic shut down the world, that he made that love and hidden desire a reality.

With music performance now completely gone Daniel Lucca put his efforts into developing his love for Film and realized that the perfect way to launch into this new journey was to create a story about what is most important to him, his family. So in August of 2020 Daniel Lucca began Production on his first Short Film, “The 2020 Kid,” focused on the dynamic between himself, his wife and his 12 year old son during the Covid-19 Pandemic Lockdown. Shooting the entire Film on his Apple I-Phone, Daniel Lucca, after six months of Production, Filming, Music Scoring, Video and Audio Editing, has completed his first Short completely on his own.

Daniel Lucca looks forward to continuing his journey as a Director into the future.
